This post is a follow-up on the Announcement by Satan thread (notice the reference to Dozy Dawn and 666). This is my proposal to how we can revive Dreamworld. There are three parts to this notice, and I recommend you to read over carefully.
You are also going to vote on whether Dreamworld should continue in this game, and how it should continue.
Preface
Back in the 2013-2014 winter, we were all excited when Dreamworld was released after the release of the 500th level. It brought up a parallel realm allowing you to play modified versions of existing levels with a new challenge, the *much hated* Moon Scale.
However, Dreamworld wasn't well received, and even up until the very end of Dreamworld, there were considerable more players who have reached levels in the two-thousands than there were players who reached Dozy Dawn, the once unexpected final episode of Dreamworld.
What really startled me (and all the other players and wikians out there) was that King actually decided to completely remove Dreamworld from the game, which I thought was still highly unlikely. It immediately put me into overtime work here, so I can announce to the wiki that Dreamworld had officially been deleted from the game.
Nerfing the Moon Scale
Before, the moon scale works like that:
- You make a match while the Moon Scale is in effect (it is not moonstruck):
- The degree of imbalance will be recorded live, and can go beyond the maximum amount of imbalance which causes Odus to fall down.
- If the next move still has the Moon Scale in effect, Odus will only fall down when all cascades have ended and the final imbalance exceeds the maximum amount, in either direction.
- It is possible that a one-move fail will result. A single match can cause the Moon Scale to become fully unbalanced, resulting in a frustrating loss.
- It is also believed that the board will spawn more candies on the side which the Moon Scale is tipping towards to further unbalance it.
My proposal will nerf the Moon Scale itself, which will encourage the development of Dreamworld episodes after Episode 45.
- A) Inbalance: Degree of imbalance will still be recorded live, but will not go beyond the maximum amount of imbalance + 3.
- B) Grace Period: If your move causes the Moon Scale to become fully unbalanced on one side, you will have a one-turn grace period, which Odus will not fall down. However, if your next move still results in the Moon Scale to become fully unbalanced on the same side, Odus will fall down.
- This effectively prevents one-move failures.
- If the Moon Scale is fully unbalanced on one side, and the next move causes the Moon Scale to be fully unbalanced on the other side, Odus will still stay up, and the grace period still holds.
- C) Indicator: The moon scale will display the maximum amount of imbalance until Odus will fall down (if you fail the grace period).
Poll
I have also provided a poll regarding should Dreamworld be revived back to the game. There are four stances to this poll. The main poll can be found on the home page or Dreamworld/Poll, titled Revival of DW, and there are four stances.
- Yes. Revive it, and extend beyond 665 levels. (Support, [10])
- Yes, but 665 will still be the final level. (Support-Neutral [7])
- Maybe. Good feature, but not really into it. (Neutral [5], Neutral-Oppose [3])
- No. Dreamworld is officially dead! (Oppose [0])
All users (including IP users) will also be able to vote here regarding your stance on reviving Dreamworld. A simple stance is worth one vote power. A stance with a constructive explanation is worth three. I will submit this idea to King Care and on facebook factoring both the home poll and the forum poll.
