Adobe Flash Player 32
Web

Flash was one of the two editions of Candy Crush Saga, contrasted with the HTML5 or mobile edition. This was the original edition, and was the only edition for the first ten months of the game's existence. Originally, both Facebook and King.com ran the Flash edition of the game. The game mechanics and scoring on Flash differed considerably from the mobile version.

Features which differed completely from its HTML5 counterpart, or were present on completely separate times between these editions will have the feature listed as both a Flash and a HTML5 feature; a notable example were Champion Titles.

Notable Flash elements[]

Many features were only seen on Flash version, and never available on the HTML5 or mobile versions. Flash received priority development especially in regard to new episodes until the transition to HTML5 was complete.

Trends[]

The HTML5 version was based on the mobile versions of the game with identical mechanics and gameplay. Peppermint Portal, ending at Level 2825, symbolized the completion of the transition. Almost all updates, features, and redesigns not long after that point became HTML5 features. There are almost no Flash features in 2019 and after besides a rare ambiguous exception, Sugar Stars.

King has started transitioning web platforms of Candy Crush from Flash to HTML5 since 2017, though that only applied on Facebook. On King.com, this platform still used the Flash version as its sole remaining platform and as a fallback edition. It is also noted that many redesigns made since 2018 were spared on Flash, meaning Flash still have many six-coloured levels while their HTML5 counterparts were all nerfed. Thus, from not long after Peppermint Portal to the final demise of Flash after April Fools 2020 (which altered the maps on HTML5) have levels split between editions.

On 14 September 2020, King switched to HTML5 on the King.com platform, rendering the Flash version inaccessible for the final three months of Flash's existence. Flash has been EOLed on 31 December 2020. King.com has been discontinued 2¼ months afterwards after running the game on HTML5.

As of now, Flash is no longer avaliable, so this section is mostly for historical purposes. It is unknown when King will provide a HTML5 remake of the Flash edition, which they have done for the original Candy Crush.
