HTML5

HTML5 is one of the two editions of Candy Crush Saga, contrasted with the Flash edition. This version was first realized on 2012 November 14, and was once called the mobile or app edition. The game mechanics on HTML5 can differ greatly from Flash.

This also includes features that were introduced, or were carried on after the unification of mobile, Facebook, and Windows 10 versions in 2017. Almost all content after Peppermint Portal are HTML5 features, with Sugar Stars being a rare and ambiguous exception. Features which differs completely from its Flash counterpart, or were present on completely separate times between these editions will have the feature listed as both a Flash and a HTML5 feature; a notable example are Master Titles.

Notable HTML5 elements[]

  • Episodes 190 and beyond (as well as levels 2826 and beyond)
  • More candy orders (such as jelly fish, candy bomb, mystery candy, cake bomb, candy frog, magic mixer etc.)
  • Candy Cane Fences
  • Empty Sugar Chests (all five layers)
  • Non-spawning colours (both regular candies and elements)
  • Waffles and their respective Candy Cannon (all five waffle layers and three-layered waffle cannon)
  • Dark Chocolate (all three layers)
  • Extra Moves Candy and its respective Candy Cannon
  • Jelly order, order drop down Mixed Mode levels
  • Specific striped candy cannon
  • Candy orders for new elements (such as waffles and dark chocolate)
  • Magic mixers that can spawn dark chocolate, crystal candies, rainbow twists, and sugar coats
  • Candy Cane Curl (all three layers)
  • Various blocker combinations
  • Various Candy Cannon combinations (including cannons that spawn up to four elements).
  • Crystal Candy.
  • Colour bomb cannon
  • Jelly fish cannon
  • Rainbow Twists
  • Sugar Coats and their cannon

Trends[]

Also, almost every blocker exclusive to HTML5 has multiple variants, where the maximal variant was usually introduced since release:

  • Candy Cane Fence: Up, Down, Left and Right
  • Waffles: One-layered to five-layered
  • Dark Chocolate: One-layered, two-layered and three-layered
  • Candy Cane Curls: Up, Down, Left and Right, as well as one-layered, two-layered and three-layered (for a total of 12 combinations.
  • Crystal candies: One-layered, two-layered and three-layered.
  • Rainbow twists: One-layered to five-layered
  • Sugar coats: One-layered, two-layered and three-layered
  • Bubblegum Pop: One-layered to five-layered
  • Liquorice Curls and Fences: One-layered, two-layered, three-layered, permanent
  • Order Lock: Varies by size and order required
  • Sour Skull: 5 layers
  • Bonbon Blitz: Varies by special candy and number of activations
  • Dark Chocolate Spawner: One-layered, two-layered and three-layered
  • Candy Cobra: One to five layers
  • Wonderful Wrapper: Up to five layers, various colours and content inside.

It is also noted that many redesigns made since 2018 applied only on the HTML5 version. Thus, from not long after Peppermint Portal to the final demise of Flash after April Fools 2020 (which altered the map on HTML5) have levels split between editions.
