Episode Race (also known as Fast Race) is one of the events in Candy Crush Saga. It was released in April 2019.[1]
The game records how fast other players finished an episode. The player can get gold bars depending on placement. This event is nowadays the most reliable way of obtaining Gold without the payment of real-world money, with game-changing alterations on how one progresses through the map.
Details[]
- When a player completes an episode opener, this event will be activated if it is enabled in the options menu.
- The player will be placed with 4 other players that have also started the same episode. Players will need to complete this episode faster than their opponents. Each player can confirm the progress of everyone in the group.
- Once a player has completed the episode finale, the place will be recorded, and the player can claim rewards.
- For some users, the event was renamed from Episode Race to Fast Race in 2020. This means that the race begins with four other fastest players. Despite the name change, the function remains the same. Some users who have already maintained a winning streak may end up with the hard version of the Episode Race, with interface analogous to Hexagon levels. The payouts of winning will be increased to 20/30/40 gold bars, at the cost of much lower payout for any other placement. However, it was replaced with short time unlimited Colour Bomb booster.
Strategy[]
Being a highly reliable source of gold bars nowadays, this event, in conjunction with other powerful events like Candy Necklace, means that boosters, and possibly even Gold, should be used to prevent level failure, and the subsequent loss of event bonuses.
