Naturally this later approach will be needed when you release the popcorn colour bomb, as there are no combinations to be had in the isolated column.

Level 1046 is the sixth level in Mellow Marshmallow and the 359th jelly level. To pass this level, you must clear 9 double jelly squares in 54 moves or fewer. When you complete the level, Sugar Crush is activated and will score you additional points.

Difficulty

  • Five colours make it easier to create special candies.
  • Alljelly squares are isolated from the main board, requiring the use of special candies.
  • There is a double jelly square on the centre row underneath the popcorn, which can only be destroyed using special candies.

Strategy

  • Your key target at first is of course the popcorn, but it is not your only target as you have plenty of jelly in that isolated column, so focus but do not obsess with the popcorn.
  • If you can make a colour bomb on the main board, it really is worth the effort to then try for a colour/stripe combination, which will probably solve most of the board for you. Because the board is so open, these opportunities are relatively common for a six colour board.
  • If you really cannot see such a combination two/three/four moves away, then probably better to blast your colour bomb on the best available colour and hope for nice things to emerge, e.g. another colour bomb (quite common) or an opportunity for a wrapped/striped combination (very useful on this level). Naturally this later approach will be needed when you release the popcorn colour bomb, as there are no combinations to be had in the isolated column.
  • Striped candies are useful in their own right, but of course the horizontal ones are far more useful to you than vertical ones; the latter only help you in combination with each other, a wrapped or (best of all) a colour bomb.

Trivia

  • This level continues the trend where every 39 levels starting from 422 is lower than hard.
