When you complete the level, Sugar Crush is activated and will score you additional points.

You need to try and set up some multiple special situations so you can clear liquorice swirls with one go and then cash in against the jelly the next. When you get on a roll with specials that way, you will make progress and have a decent chance to close out. A well-placed striped/wrapped combination is useful because it can hit all four squares with jellies/liquorice swirls in one move.
If you plan your moves well, in line with the above tips, it should only take a few goes.
The usefulness of jelly fish depends on the situation. They might well be wasted on if the jellies are still under liquorice swirls, because your fish will eat liquorice swirls, not jelly, and then the liquorice swirls will respawn. But if the liquorice swirls are cleared, jelly fish will be a big help in eating away whatever jellies that remain on your board. A colour bomb and jelly fish combination is also useful in any situation, because the first set of fish will eat the liquorice swirls, the second groups will eat the jellies.
