Rainbow Rapids levels is one of the seven level types in Candy Crush Saga. This level type's icon is
turquoise with a bending line. Rainbow Rapids levels first appear in Snowy Suburbs, the 476th episode, with the first
rainbow rapids level being level 7116.
Being a new level type, Rainbow Rapids levels make up 2.97% of Reality levels, at 318 Rainbow Rapids appearances out of the 10700 levels currently. Adding the 249 mixed appearances, there are 567 appearances in total. The percentage of rainbow rapids levels will and has exceeded moves levels , since there are no new moves levels being released, and that moves levels are recently phased out of the game.
The current trend is 0 to 1 non-mixed rainbow rapids levels per episode. Since the introduction of mixed levels with rainbow rapids combination, regular rainbow rapids levels don't appear as often.
The player needs to collect rainbow candies to complete the levels. To do this, the player must lead the rainbow rapids from the rainbow cannons to the mold. At which point, the mold will fill up to reveal a rainbow candy, which is then automatically collected (see below).
Overall, the difficulty of the rainbow rapids level depends on how easy it is to clear the blockers on the path. Almost all blockers can block the flow of the rainbow rapids.
Certain blockers, such as liquorice swirls and waffles can land on the rainbow stream to block it and push it back. For example, if a liquorice swirl falls onto the path, the rainbow rapids will be pushed back to the tile before the liquorice swirl.
Chocolate and dark chocolate can grow over the path to block it.
Conveyor belts may not be able to move rainbow rapids, but they can bring blockers to the path of the rainbow rapids to block the flow.
Chocolate fountains, bobbers, and candy cane fences can block the path for the rainbow candies. However, if there was ever a level where this happens, it would make the level impossible to pass even with boosters.
Rainbow rapids levels were released around the same time Hexagon levels were revamping their appearance.
On the map, if you haven't been affected by the hexagon level appearance change, Rainbow Rapids levels appear as rainbow buttons.
The appearance change for hexagon levels caused all the level buttons to be pink, purple, blue, or dark blue, regardless of level type.
This is the first level type that is exclusive to HTML5 versions, and the first one since Mixed Mode levels.
All rainbow rapids levels have blockers on their path.
The number of mixed levels began decreasing after this level type was introduced. Ironically, the first episode with rainbow rapids mixed levels is also the first one without regular rainbow rapids levels.
Mixed levels with rainbow rapids are introduced in Episode 563.
