InvestmentRatings

How level ratings look like when rating investment bonds.

Just two days ago, I purposed a rating system regarding my activity level in Candy Crush Saga. The ratings are analogous to the difficulty ratings given to levels in this wiki, with lower ratings representing "active," and higher ratings representing "inactive." The overall rating is present in my profile page. This was first posted in the forums, see this thread.

Unfortunately, this rating is counterintuitive, since being more active results in a lower rating. I am not sure if the order should be switched, but if the order is switched, then the new highest rating will have the color of the old lowest rating (Completely active would be the highest rating, but will have the color of None). The sequential ratings again are analogous to the ratings from None to Nearly impossible, but the color scheme may be the opposite. The two special ratings, analogous to Variable and Impossible, will retain their original color.

I have also considered the Inactive rating, and retirement as distinct from the grades on the scale. They will be listed on a separate table below the grades on the grading scale. They will still be color coded appropriately based on the most likely or best grade attainable when I have these statuses.

Please regard harder (aka inactive) ratings as worse ratings and easier (aka active) ratings as better ratings.

I separate the gradings into three classes: Favorable grades correspond to easy levels and therefore being active. Speculative grades correspond to difficult levels and the state of inactivity or even retirement. Peculiar grades correspond to peculiar ratings with unique circumstances and an explanation of why this grade is given. The grade given refers to both my activity level in the short term and my overall interest level in the long term; higher grades also represent loss of interest or activity relating to Candy Crush Saga.

This is my proposal for the user ratings, from the (current) lowest to highest, followed by special ratings.

The Rating Scale (analogous to the Difficulty Scale)
Rating Description
(0) Completely Active
(None)

Available and completely active throughout the time unless I am at rest or outside of the posted active hours. Active for many (up to 16) hours every day continuously making many hundreds of edits and processing large volumes of data. I am always available for chat.

For gaming, I will be playing marathon sessions every day completing as much levels and aiming many achievements I created as possible. I will complete more than 100 typical levels a day at this rating.

This is a very rare rating, and is only possible during winter holidays or a few summer-vacation days.

(1) Very Active
(Very Easy)

Available and active, especially in my posted active hours. Active for several (2-8) hours every day making up to hundreds of edits or processing considerable volumes of data. I am always available for chat.

For gaming, I will be playing for several hours every day completing as much levels or aiming some achievements I created. I should complete at least 30 typical levels a day and use many mulligans at this rating

This rating is rare, except during winter holidays and summer vacations.

(2) Active
(Easy)

Available and active most of the time during my posted active hours. Active for up to two or three hours a day making tens of edits or processing data with no risk of breaking the edit streak. I am available on chat whenever I am active or busy on the wiki.

I should be playing for one or two hours every day completing levels or aiming some achievements I created. I should complete at least 15 typical levels a day and use several set of lives at this rating.

(3) Somewhat Active
(Somewhat Easy)

Available and active some of the time during my posted active hours. Usually active for up to one hour a day, making several edits or processing some data, with a slight chance of breaking the edit streak. I am mostly available on chat whenever I am active or busy on the wiki.

I should be playing for at most an hour most days, usually to complete several levels or aiming a score achievement. I should complete around 7 typical levels per day at this rating, and might use a few set of lives. I usually play daily at this rating.

(4) Moderate
(Medium)

Not active most of the time during my posted active hours unless very short. Usually active for a fraction of an hour every day, and will usually contribute at a rate of a few edits per day. There is a risk of breaking the edit streak. I am mostly available on chat when I am online.

I should be playing for around tens minutes most days, though I may just use one set of lives and no mulligans. I should complete around 3 typical levels per day at this rating, but I may not always play daily.

(5) Partly Inactive
(Somewhat Hard)

Not active most of the time, and my posted active hours will be short. I will still browse on the wiki and I will contribute at a rate of one edit a day. However, there won't be any major contributions and I often break edit streaks. I am unavailable on chat except for more active periods.

I should play at a sessional basis during my recess or transit time, and should usually use just one set of lives. I should complete at an overall rate least 1 or 2 typical levels per day at this rating, but I may not always play daily.

(6) Mostly Inactive
(Hard)

The first of the speculative grades, I will start to miss consecutive days to a few weeks, and there might not be any active hours. I will still browse on the wiki to look for updates, but usually I not make any posts. I contribute sparingly and only a few times a month. I am unavailable on chat.

I may sometimes play a session during recess or transit time, and will usually use just one set of lives. The overall rate of progress is less than one level per day.

There is some risk of losing interest in CCS, but otherwise this is the second worst rating given due to real-life events. This is also the best rating I can normally get when I am semi-retired. There is also a small chance that I may enter Inactive status.

(7) Very Inactive

Inactive
(Very Hard)

Will miss consecutive weeks, and there is no regular active hours. I sometimes browse on the wiki to look for updates, but otherwise I am inactive.

It is now uncommon that I go to my apps or to the website to play Candy Crush per day; I am only just keeping the app and the web bookmark. The overall rate of process is much less than one level per day.

At that level, I am losing interest in CCS, and there is a risk that I may enter Inactive status.

(8) Insanely Inactive
(Extremely Hard)

Most or all interest of CCS has been lost. I will miss consecutive months or even quarters, and I may not even browse on the wiki anymore.

I am only just keeping the app and the web bookmark of this game, only rarely opening it to play the game. I might already deleted the app and the bookmark at this rating. The overall rate of process is approaching zero.

At that rating, I am either critically endangered to getting or already got the Inactive tag. It is also the best rating I can get when I declare myself retired. If I am at the upper ranks, it is likely that I may demote myself.

(9) Effectively Dead
(Nearly Impossible)

All interest of CCS has been eroded away. I am no longer contributing to this wiki anymore, and it is unlikely that the grade will be downgraded.

I might have completely abandoned this game such that I have deleted the app and the bookmark.

At that level, I am virtually certain to getting the inactive tag since I first attained this rating, and I only give this rating when I am retired. If i am at the upper ranks, I have already been demoted.

(7*) Variable
(Variable)

Treat this peculiar rating as equivalent to at least Very Inactive, except that I am still (somewhat) interested in editing CCS. Again, I will miss days and not make any contributions, that there will be no active hours, and that I will be completely unavailable during chat. I may either withdraw temporarily from the wiki or still browse the wiki read-only. I usually will provide a schedule of when I will be back into normal activity.

If the gaming rating is variable, I am not playing this game at all, with transit and appointment waiting being the only exceptions. The overall rate of process is usually zero at this rating (or very low if I do manage to spare a very short time playing this game).

Unlike standard speculative ratings, there is a much higher chance that my rating will be reduced.

(U) Undefined
(Impossible)

Generally only given when I no longer use my account, when the Wiki or CCS itself dies out, or even when I am blocked. In all but the last case, I may create a new account.

Other Terms (Color code based on closest difficulty correspondence)
Definition Description and Requirements
Busy Indicates that I am currently busy with real life, but that there is an expected date of return.
Inactive

Do not confuse this with Mostly Inactive. Inactive means you missed 90 consecutive days (3 months, or more than 12 weeks), and have got the Inactive tag. It is definitely worse than Mostly Inactive, as I will usually miss up to a few weeks with that rating.

This does not mean I am going to be permanently away. It could mean I am very busy with real life, or that I currently could not find any meaningful places to edit here (the latter might no longer happen).

When I am Inactive, I am at best Very Inactive. So basically, treat Very Inactive and Inactive the same thing.

Semi-Retired

Means I have lost most interest in the game, and my activity has dwindled down significantly. When semi-retired, the best I can be is Mostly Inactive, but expect me to be at Very Inactive or worse.

Having a very poor rating does not imply that I am going to retire. Again, I may be very busy with real life, and I have posted about this along with an expected return date. However, with Semi-Retired, it is much harder to determine when I will come back, and there is a considerable risk that I may fully retire.

I can be Very Inactive without being Semi-Retired. A grade of Insanely Inactive or worse are usually given only if I have attained semi-retirement or even complete retirement.

Retired I have completely lost interest in the game. I no longer could find anything enjoyable to edit in the wiki, and my contributions have pretty much stopped.

It almost always follows semi-retirement, and a final blog post will always be given when I retire. Don't expect this to happen in the near future: this usually happens only if this wiki itself is moribund.

In most cases, an explanation and posted active hours (in UTC/Wikia time) will be available from there on either from my upcoming blogs or on my profile page. Ratings are updated every week except for speculative/peculiar ones, and a note may be given for more active or inactive periods. Occasionally, I may express the same rating in different words, but the color code will represent the overall rating.

From now on I will start making blogs (depending on my activity level) regarding updates to the user rating system and my future roadmap. You can consider this post as the first of my series of blog posts I am planning to create.

Update of 3/14/2017: A rating less than (meaning better than) Medium means I will make blog posts at regular intervals, often with a preview. A rating from Medium to Mostly Inactive means I will make a blog post at more irregular intervals, usually once every two weeks depending on the rating. A rating of Very Inactive or higher usually indicate I won't make a blog post that often. The next blog post will come around Wednesday.

Update of 3/17/2017: Attained Adminship: this blog is now an Admin blog

Errata of 5/20/2017: Adjusted some difficulty requirements, by adding the risk of missing a day (and hence breaking the edit streak). A rating worse than Somewhat Active indicates that I have a risk of missing a day, and that I may not be able to get the high-ranking Wiki Love badges, including the Platinum badge.

Errata of 5/30/2017: Added more phrases with similar meanings. Inactive correspond to Very Active or lower. More erratas and clarifications on ratings.
